ProcessWire, the CMS that powers PAGEGRID, has just unveiled an exciting new admin theme. While it's still in beta, we're thrilled to report it already integrates beautifully with PAGEGRID. In this post, we'll dive into some of its standout features and show you how to try it out for yourself.

What changes with the new UI?

The updated interface brings a host of subtle yet significant improvements over the classic ProcessWire default theme. Beyond its sleeker, more modern, and minimal aesthetic, it also introduces several functional enhancements:

• Independent "Light" and "Dark" modes are available, along with an "Auto" mode that adapts to the user's operating system preferences.
• The masthead, primary navigation and search are now always available, fixed to the top of the window.
• Dropdown navigation lists with lots of items now scroll within the dropdown rather than the window.
• An improved search function and command hotkeys.
• Higher quality typography and color usage throughout.
• The ability to easily change the “main” color for the theme from the theme module settings. 

How can I try the new UI with PAGEGRID?

This new admin UI theme is currently in beta. However, you can try it now if you're using PAGEGRID in a self-hosted environment with ProcessWire 3.0.248 or newer (currently the development branch) and the latest version of PAGEGRID (2.2.74).

While we're excited about these updates, our cloud users will continue to use the current custom PAGEGRID UI theme for now. We plan to roll out the new theme to our cloud users once it's out of beta and fully stable.
