The Holiday Wrap-Up

As we head toward the end of the year, I’ve been doing some reflecting. PAGEGRID is growing, and with that growth, I want to be transparent about what drives this project and where we are headed. I also wanted to share a few new updates that improve the workflow when building sites for clients or yourself.

Looking Ahead

I often get asked about the future of PAGEGRID, and I want to be very clear: I’m building this to last. PAGEGRID isn’t just a product I’m selling; it’s a tool I built for myself. I use it for most of my projects, and it’s the backbone of KONKAT, the agency I founded together with my friend Diogo Oliveira. Because we rely on it for our own client work, I’m deeply committed to keeping it updated, supported, and evolving for many years to come. If for any reason I am no longer able to lead the project, my partner Diogo will take over. Should he also be unable to continue, the PAGEGRID source code will be released completely free of charge to the ProcessWire community. This ensures that the tool you rely on today will remain accessible and maintained long term.

It’s been amazing to see the list of users grow, and knowing that others are finding it useful makes me even more excited to keep pushing it forward. The future feels very bright, and I’m glad you’re part of it. In my next post, I will highlight some of the exciting new features we are planning for next year. In the meantime, I am also very interested in your ideas for improvements and further updates, so please feel free to share them in the PAGEGRID forum!

One thing that sets PAGEGRID apart is that I have no venture capital and no external funding. PAGEGRID is completely independent. I am not planning any price increases; my goal is to keep this tool accessible. I remain dedicated to keeping the code open-source and fully supporting self-hosting without a subscription model. We at KONKAT are also deeply committed to and contributing to the ProcessWire open source community, as we are using this amazing CMS on a daily basis.

Because we don’t have a massive marketing budget, we rely on word-of-mouth. If you enjoy using PAGEGRID, we would be grateful if you told your friends or colleagues about it. And if you have built something amazing with PAGEGRID, please let us know and share it with the community.

New features in latest version (2.2.134)

Besides some bug fixes and performance updates, I’ve also added some new features to make your daily workflow a bit smoother:

Quick-add between items

I’ve made the visual building process much faster and more intuitive by allowing you to add items and symbols directly between groups, sections, and other elements.

For editors, this removes the guesswork and extra steps of reordering blocks after they are created. For site creators, it offers much finer control over the layout structure. You can now define exactly where users are allowed to add new content—for example, whether they can add items to the root of the page, only within specific blocks, or both.

Symbol Permissions

For those working with teams or clients, you now have granular control over who can add or edit individual symbols. This keeps your design systems safe while still giving others the freedom to manage content. Symbols are a quick way to add pre-designed layout sections to your page.

Case study: 3P SCORE

Finally, I want to showcase a project that we at KONKAT built recently using PAGEGRID: 3P SCORE

3P SCORE is a specialized platform designed to help companies measure and manage their sustainability performance.

We were responsible for the logo and branding, as well as creating a website and an app. By using a no-code approach with PAGEGRID for the site and ProcessWire + FormBuilder module for the app, we were able to deliver a high-quality, custom result in record time.

A major focus for the new site was empowering the client’s marketing team to quickly build their own landing pages independently. This specific need directly inspired the new features I mentioned above. To make this work, we created a set of predesigned sections (symbols) that the client can use to assemble new pages in minutes, ensuring they have the flexibility they need without the risk of breaking the core design system.

Stay tuned for our next issue

Before we look ahead to all the exciting things 2026 has in store, I want to take a moment to simply say thank you. Knowing there is a community of builders who value independence and open-source tools as much as I do makes all the work on PAGEGRID truly rewarding.

As we head into the break, I hope you take the time to disconnect from the screens, recharge, and enjoy the holiday season. I wish you and your family and loved ones a wonderful time filled with joy and relaxation.

I look forward to seeing what we build together in the New Year!
